ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

I don't want to sound like a rude asshole by posting this, but Ceesie is OVER the ice bucket challenge.
I mean… enough is ENOUGH.
The first thing that I've been seeing for the last month when I open my Facebook, Instagram or Twitter are pictures and videos of people doing this ALS ice bucket challenge.
In the beginning it was fun to see Anna wintour, Mario Testino, Gisele and Britney pouring ice cold water over themselves , but now it's starting to get annoying!
Ceesie totally supports and understands it's a great thing that the organization is raising so much money with the challenge, but pouring ice water over your head is not making any difference if you don't donate money.
I bet that 60% of the people that do the challenge don't donate or even know what ALS stands for.
So what Ceesie is trying to say here is to STOP with this "social media trend" when you don't donate any money to the organization. (and by the way waisting water is also not ok!)

Racism ruins lives

A few days ago Ceesie watched the movie 'American History X' a movie I hadn't seen since high school… Ceesie was so shocked and heartbroken by the movie that I went to bed sad and thinking.
The next morning I woke up and heard the news about the young black kid that got shot in Missouri (for no reason) and I thought, things still haven't changed!!!
It's just so sad to see that racism is still happening today.

Ceesie believes in human beings, and that all human beings should be respected as such regardless of their color.
Let's all pray and hope that in time racism will be gone forever.

HOORAY

Ceesie never makes any promotion on his blog, but when it comes to family I feel like I have to support my own flesh and blood…
My lovely cousin just started her own event company: HOORAY!
She organizes birthday parties, weddings, baby showers and much more. (http://www.hoorayevents.be)
A few weeks ago I asked her to help me organize my Birthday dinner and what an amazing job she did. The gorgeous flowers came from the best flower shop in Gent 'Bos Bloemen' and the plates she painted herself.
Ceesie was so happy and excited to invite all his close friends together to enjoy an unforgettable birthday dinner. (with an even better after-party afterwards, DU-UH)
My dad cooked the best food and everyone had a great time.
Thanks again daddy cool and Julie!
Here are some images of the table decoration:

Seoul I love you

Time flies. 3 weeks Korea has passed by so fast it's scary.
Like always , Ceesie had a great and unforgettable time in his favorite Asian city.
I lived extremely healthy for 3 weeks (no alcohol, no dairy, no bread and almost no sweets) and i'm going back with a ton of great energy and some unforgettable memories. What more can my body and mind ask for?
Seoul is one of those cities a tourist wouldn't immediately think of going.
You would more easily go to Hong Kong, Tokyo or Bangkok but Ceesie is telling you GO visit Seoul. It's a huge city with so much to do. The small different neighborhoods all have their own style and atmosphere and that's what makes it so fun. The food is by far the best Asian their is and the people speak much better English then in Japan, so it's a lot easier to get around.
Trust Ceesie, you won't regret going.

WORLD CUP

One Belgian supporter between 5000 korean supporters.
Yesterday was a day to remember, I woke up at 3.30 am to go support my country, who was playing against South Korea in the world cup. Ceesie is not a big soccer fan, but I felt like I could not not go.
How brave was I to go stand between all Koreans and support my country with a big Belgian flag?
So happy we won (and that I didn't go home with a black eye)

Fast food Seoul

Ceesie is back in his favorite Asian City, Seoul.
I'm vey happy to be back here, but I have to say that I'm a little shocked…
When I came to South Korea for the first time, about 5 years ago, there were almost no fast food restaurants and now they are everywhere. KFC, Mc Donalds, Pizza Hut, Subway, Burger King,… name it, it's here!
The thing Ceesie loves about Seoul are the little food trucks on the street and the small little restaurants that serve you the best local food, but now they start to disappear little by little.
I think it's sad and stupid that our Western culture has such an impact on the Asian (food) market.
Not only are the Koreans gaining weight , they are also eating unhealthier then before and the percentage of obesity has never had such a high level as today. Sad to see!
But hey, what can Ceesie do about it? Nothing. I guess that's just the way things go these days.

Bye Bye TriBeCa

Ceesie is sad. Ceesie is very sad… Why? Cause today is the last day of me living in TriBeCa.
My roommate's boyfriend is moving in, so it's goodbye Ceesie and hello marriage.
I truly loved living in this chic and peaceful neighborhood. TriBeCa is a cute little area where not that many tourists come and where mostly rich people live, so can it get any better?
While I went grocery shopping at whole foods (the best one in the city by the way) I sometimes bumped into my lovely neighbors such as Doutzen Kroes, Karolina Kurkova, Mariah Carey, Robert de Niro, Bono and even Beyonce.

Not sure if I'll ever live here again, as it's such an expensive neighborhood, but we all have to be thankful in live with what we had and have and who knows, maybe I'll live here again one day and have my own amazing house with private swimming pool, jacuzzi and a home cinema.
Keep on dreaming Ceesie, next stop Europe.

View from my balcony.

PR CONSULTING

Ceesie has been doing an internship at PR consulting for over one month now and I have to say : I LOVE IT.
Being a male model is not always that easy, or maybe it's a little TOO EASY.
Since I published my book and finished designing my collection for Essentiel (that comes out beginning of October) I felt a little lost. New York is a great city to live in but if you don't have a daily routine/job you can get a little mad, or at least that how Ceesie went.
So I came in for an interview at PR consulting and they hired me straight away.
I always thought that working in PR is interesting and even though I prefer to be inside the party than outside the party, I feel like I'm learning a lot and that I'm more productive than ever before.
As a model you need to think about the future and Ceesie thinks it's important to always be one step ahead of everything.

Watermelon salad

As summer is finally around the corner and watermelons are getting into season, Ceesie thought it would be nice to share one of his favorite salads, from his cookbook MODEL KITCHEN, with you guys. This is super easy to make and very delicious. ENJOY!

2 lbs. (900g) watermelon
7 oz. (200 gr.) Feta cheese
1 purple onion
3 limes
1/2 cup black olives
2 handfuls flat- leaf parsley
1 handful fresh mint leaves
3 tablespoons olive oil
Black pepper

Peel the onion and cut into rings. Place the Onion rings in a large bowl.
Cut the watermelon, remove the seeds. Chop into fairly large pieces and add to the onion. Coarsely chop the feta into cubes and add to the watermelon mixture. Finely chop the herbs and toss them into the bowl. Squeeze the juice of 3 limes onto the salad, add the black olives and pepper, stirring gently so that the pieces of feta and watermelon don't break. Taste and season as necessary with a bit of pepper and lime juice.

Model kitchen is still on sale and ships worldwide at https://www.net-a-porter.com/product/440580/

online dating

Just a few years ago, online dating was seen as a "risky" business. Yet today, you would be hard pressed to find a single person that has not visited, become a member, or at least been told to visit an online dating site.
Almost all of my friends in the US have Tinder, OkCupid, Grindr or any other dating app on their IPhone. I feel like online dating is much more common in the States than any where else these days. (And all that scares Ceesie a little.)
What ever happened to a nice first date, a movie, meeting each other in a bar and asking for a phone number? Or that original first opening line "Do I know you from somewhere?".
Ceesie wonders if this will all end in the future?
I thinks it's just weird that people find love this way, or am I not modern enough?
I have to admit that I tried Tinder this passed weekend for the first time and after one hour of swiping and looking at profile pics of strangers I was over it. I guess I just like it the original way.
But some people do find their soulmate by the help of an online dating site. My roommate is with her boyfriend, who she met on OkCupid, almost 2 years. My other friend is even getting married this spring.
I guess it's just not for Ceesie, I honestly don't think I'll find the love of my life through an I phone app.
