HAPPY NEW YEAR

Today is the last day of 2012 and when I look back at this unforgettable year I look back with proud and excitement . Maybe 2012 was Ceesie's best year so far.
The best thing that happened to me, without a doubt, was the publication of my cookbook MODEL KITCHEN. (Which is doing extremely well by the way)
It all started as a fun blog post on this blog and it ended up in an amazing 224 pages thick cookbook.

The other thing I can't overlook unnoticed are my 2 campaigns of Armani Exchange. The first time I saw that huge billboard on 5th avenue I almost screamed from excitement, a moment that Ceesie will never forget.
But not only my work was impressive over the past year, also the places Ceesie got to visit are not bad at all: Montreal, Shanghai, Marrakech, Seoul, Palm Beach, Venice,… All cities I had never been before and who are worth the visit. And of course not to forget my unforgettable holiday in Ibiza with my close friend Virginie, probably the best summer getaway ever. Sipping champagne at Valentino's yacht? I mean… CA VA!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention our new family member Perro, the cutest dog ever.

I hope and secretly feel that 2013 will be even better!

And the earth died screaming while I laid dreaming

The main question that is spinning threw Ceesie's mind for the past week is if the world is really coming to an end.
If we have to believe the Mayas we only have 48 hours to live!
Scary if you ask me.
To be honest I never believed in it and I still don't know if I should, but some of my friends made me a little scared with sharing me their theories and showing me the most crazy youtube videos.
This might sound weird but Ceesie wouldn't mind the end of the world : If it happens, it happens!
I had a great life and I enjoyed every moment of it. After all, we will all die together so there is no reason to survive!

If I knew for sure the world would come to an end I would do these things in the next 2 days:
- Eat everything I want (without feeling guilty afterwards): Chocolate, mac and cheese, bagels, Cinnamon rolls, candy,....
- Go bungee jumping.
- Rob a bank.
- Tell my parents how much I love them.
- Go to the most fancy restaurant in my town and invite all my best friends.
- Buy the most expensive outfit at an amazing store (and wear it at the dinner).
- Punch the person I hate the most in the face.
- Buy a homeless person a night in a 5 star hotel.
- Swim with a dolphin.
- Party for 48 hours.
- Make love till the world ends.

SPINNING

Lately my newest gym obsession is CYCLING!
It all started a few months ago at my gym, chelsea piers, in NYC.
I normally run, swim and do weights but Ceesie wanted to spice up his gym life and tried something different and so I went to my first cycling class ever.
I felt in love with the heavy/sweaty class from the beginning. Spinning classes are a great way to burn a lot of calories, you can burn up to 800 calories in 50 minutes: MAJOR!
I have to admit it's extremely heavy but you feel amazing when you leave the class.
Try it, I'm sure you'll love it.

scones alarm


Ceesie is back in London for 2 weeks and one of the things that makes me the most happy, is to be able to eat the best scones in the world. The Albion, in Shorditch, is probably my favorite place to eat them. I know I wrote about scones before, but I never gave you my favorite recipe that you can find back in my cookbook, MODEL KITCHEN.

Please try them and you will fall in love with my favorite guilty pleasure.





8 TO 10 SCONES 

- 9 oz. (250 g) self-rising flour 

- 2 oz. (50 g) butter, cubed 
- 4 oz. (110 ml) milk or buttermilk 
- 1 tablespoon baking powder 
- 1 tablespoon yogurt 
- 3 tablespoons fine granulated sugar 
- 2 handfuls raisins 
- a pinch of salt 

 TO GLAZE THE SCONES 
- 1 egg yolk, lightly beaten 
with 1 tablespoon milk 

Preheat the oven to 220° C/ 425° F. Combine 
all the ingredients, except the milk and the 
raisins, in a large bowl. Knead briefly but 
intensely, until the butter and flour mixture 
resembles coarse crumbs. Pour in the milk 
and add the raisins. Knead into a ball of dough. 
Sprinkle some flour on the worktop and 
roll out the dough to a thickness of ¾ inch 
(2 cm). Cut into rounds using a drinking glass 
or a metal cookie-cutter. Brush the scones 
with the egg-milk mixture and place them on 
a greased baking sheet. Bake about 10-15 
minutes, depending on the size, until golden 
brown. Serve with clotted cream and jam.
